Joe Otterson TV Reporter Jeffrey Wright has joined “The Last of Us” Season 2 at HBO, Variety has learned. Wright will appear in the role of Isaac, whom he previously played in “The Last Us Part II” video game.
The character is described as “the quietly powerful leader of a large militia group who sought liberty but instead has become mired in an endless war against a surprisingly resourceful enemy.” Wright will appear in the series alongside returning series leads Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Gabriel Luna, and Rutina Wesley.
New cast members this season include Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, and Danny Ramirez as Manny.
Catherine O’Hara also guest stars in an undisclosed role. Wright is one of the most acclaimed actors of his generation. He recently received his first Academy Award nomination for his leading role in the film “American Fiction,” for which he also got a Golden Globe nod.
