'Knight in shining armour' rescues lost couple as Lake District holiday nearly ends in tears

A man from Bolton rescued a holidaying couple after they got lost in thick fog high up the hills of the Lake District. The heroic fell runner spotted the duo on Blea Rigg, near Ambleside, and navigated them safely back to Grasmere, avoiding a potentially dangerous situation.

Now, he has been hailed as a hero online after the hotel where the lost couple were staying put out an appeal on Facebook to try and find 'Tom from Bolton'.
