King Charles III has submitted an application to open up Balmoral to the public as a wedding venue.Scotland is home to countless beautiful weddings venues.
However, those looking to add a touch of royal luxury to their big day may soon be able to be wed on the famous 19th-century estate near Ballater.The King is said to be in talks with Aberdeenshire Council to obtain permission to allow couples to get married at the royal residence.
According to the Aberdeenshire and Grampian Chamber of Commerce, an application has been submitted to convert the estate's Queen's Building into a venue for marriages.As reported by The Times, events taking place at the Queen's Building would be a "rare" occurrence if plans go ahead.
However, the move could help fund Balmoral's reported £3 million yearly upkeep. Situated just a short walk from the main house, the Queen's Building may also be used for formal dinners and meetings if plans go ahead.
