A picture is worth a thousand words and there is no doubt that the Princess of Wales’ much-loved photos offer a unique insight into the lives and personalities of those closest to her.

A natural with a camera, she has become known for taking characterful close-ups of her children, husband William and other members of the royal family, including a prize-winning portrait of Queen Camilla. “The princess is great at capturing a moment,” says leading celebrity and royal photographer Rankin. “She really knows how to take a picture and has got a good eye.
