He returned to Afghanistan for a 20-week deployment in 2012–13 with the Army Air Corps. He left the army in June 2015.

Kate Middleton has been taking a well-deserved rest from her royal duties as she continues her recovery from cancer treatment.The Princess of Wales, 42, commenced a course of preventative chemotherapy in late February, after revealing her illness to the world.

She's already missed out on a host of major royal events, including the glitzy BAFTAs and the significant Commonwealth Day service.

She also missed the rehearsal for Trooping the Colour, ahead of the real event this Saturday, 15 June. She wrote in a letter that she was sorry to have missed the Colonel's Review on 8 June, saying: “Being your Colonel remains a great honour, and I am very sorry that I’m unable to take the salute at this year’s Colonel’s Review.

Please pass by my apologies to the whole Regiment, however, I do hope that I am able to represent you all once again very soon." However, it was confirmed just the day before Trooping the Colour, on Friday, 14 June, that she would attend – making an appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.The Princess of Wales released a personal message, in which she said she is making “good progress” in her cancer treatment.This event, to celebrate King Charles' birthday, usually sees her travelling in style in a horse-drawn carriage, a tradition she has enjoyed every year since becoming a part of the Royal Family.
