Kate Garraway has shared her hopes for her latest documentary about her late husband, Derek Draper, to snag a National Television Award (NTA), expressing her desire for carers to "get some focus".

The beloved Good Morning Britain presenter has been nominated for the third time in the best authored documentary category with ' Kate Garraway: Derek's Story', which poignantly captures the final year of Draper's life.

In January, Kate announced the heartbreaking news that Derek had passed away at 56 after a prolonged fight with the long-term impacts of Covid. This new documentary is a sequel to two previous award-winning NTA specials that chronicled Derek's Covid ordeal and Kate's challenges within the care system in 2021 and 2022.

The GMB squad was all smiles as they celebrated Kate's recent nomination on Tuesday, with Richard Arnold, the show's entertainment guru, quipping about the possibility of a hat-trick if she clinches the award.
