Kate Garraway 'devastated' as she keeps vigil by Derek Draper's side as he's left fighting for his life

Kate Garraway is 'heartbroken' as she prepares to spend Christmas Day beside husband Derek Draper's hospital bed. Derek, a 56 year old former political advisor turned psychotherapist, is "fighting for his life" after he suffered a massive heart attack earlier this month.

Derek has been battling health issues since he contracted Covid in March 2020 and requires constant care after spending a year in hospital fighting for his life.The former Labour lobbysit was said to be excited about spending Christmas at home with Kate and their kids, but has now been hospitalised once again after suffering from a heart attack.

Kate is now said to be "praying for a miracle" as she keeps vigil by her husband's bed.TV star Kate, 56, and her children will be spending the Christmas period in hospital with Derek as much as they can.

A source told The Sun about Derek's condition, saying: "It's been a heartbreaking time for Kate and, of course, poor Derek. Sadly, his condition remains much the same. "The children are aware of the situation and have been by their dad's bedside as much as possible.The whole family is rallying around and trying to stay strong for one another.
