After an amazing run of 47 years, Tracy – played by actress Kate Ford – is leaving Weatherfield after discovering that a heartfelt letter from her sweetheart Tommy Orpington had been destroyed.Tommy had poured out his heart in the letter, expressing his dream of starting anew with Tracy in sunny Spain.
But her ex-husband, Steve McDonald, appeared to have different plans and when he found the letter, Steve decided to burn it before Tracy could read it.
Confusion followed as to what happened to the love note, and Tracy's daughter Amy was blamed for interfering, supposedly in an attempt to push her mum and Steve back together.
