'I was on Netflix's Squid Game: The Challenge - this is what it's really like'

A dad from Salford has revealed what it’s like to compete on a hit Netflix game show. Anthony Taylor was player number 039 on Squid Game: The Challenge.

While he didn't get much screen time, the moment he was eliminated was captured during episode two when he failed the ‘Dalgona’ trial.

During the test, players were tasked with carving out a particular shape from a thin cookie without breaking the treat. Contestants had just ten minutes on the clock and while he fell short, Anthony described his time on the show as one of the ‘best experiences' he has ever had. I had a good start and I managed to get part of it off, but I wasn’t looking at the clock. I was only two minutes in when I smashed my cookie and I thought ‘oh no!’" Anthony applied for a spot last year, after a friend suggested he do so.
