'I was crying at my dog dying - then found out I'd be in Corrie!' says bad boy Mason actor
ok.co.ukLuca Toolan has spoken of his shock and excitement after landing a role in Coronation Street as new character Mason.The 19 year old actor, who hails from Manchester, has joined the cast of the ITV soap alongside fellow actor Liam McCheyne, who portrays Dylan Wilson.
Mason and Dylan, who both attend Weatherfield High, are set to cause trouble on the cobbles as they begin bullying Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall), with the situation escalating over the coming months.
With his character recently being introduced on Corrie, actor Luca has now opened up about landing his role and how he's found working on the iconic soap. "I was elated!" the 19 year old said. "It was such a difficult day because my dog had died in the morning and I'd literally been at the vet crying whilst putting them down." He added: "A few hours later we went out for a pub lunch to cheer us up and my agent called me and said 'I've got some good news'.
As soon as she said that I knew it. Corrie has always been on my horizon, I’ve always said I wanted to be in it and then when they finally tell you that you’ve got the part, it was insane." Luca revealed his dad was the first person he told about his new acting job, having kept his audition a secret from his loved ones.
