A hugely popular BBC sitcom has quietly been axed after three series. Hit show Motherland will not be returning with a fourth season, actress Diane Morgan has confirmed.
Diane, 48, who played Liz in Motherland, shared the sad news in a new interview. She revealed she's been asked several times by fans about the future of the show, telling The Times: "I hate to say it, because I still get women running up to me with prams in the street asking me when it's coming back." The comedy was first released in 2017 and went on to run for three seasons, with the third airing in 2021.
Motherland returned for a Christmas special in 2022, but fans had been left wondering if it would be back on screens again. Reacting to the news, fans shared their sadness on social media following Diane's comments.
