People are encouraged to check if they’re eligible for cheaper phone and internet rates that could help amid the cost of living crisis.
The Office of Communications (Ofcom) states that some people could be entitled to broadband rates costing as little as £12.50 a month.
These are referred to as social tariffs, which are cheaper broadband and phone packages for people already receiving certain benefits.
BT, Virgin Media, Sky, EE and others are among the providers offering these rates. On its website Ofcom explains: “They’re delivered in the same way as normal packages, just at a lower price.
