UK households are being urged to keep their windows closed 'at all times' for the next month. But the advice isn't due to high temperatures, in fact, the Met Office is forecasting a more moderate climate in the coming weeks, with temperatures expected to range between 18-25C towards the end of August and beginning of September.

The real reason behind this guidance is actually related to an eight-legged creature we're all too familiar with - spiders. Spider season is upon us as they are set to infiltrate British homes from mid-August until early October, reports the Daily Record.
