A new digital ad he released this week depicts a family left traumatized when their matriarch is arrested at gunpoint for a previous abortion.Swalwell, who has served as a Democratic U.S.
representative for California’s 15th congressional district since 2013, debuted the ad on “The Reid Out” on MSNBC Monday night, which, as Joy Reid explained, “presents one possible chilling outcome of our post-Roe future.” In the ad, a family is sat down for dinner, with the eldest daughter griping about her parents openly flirting with each other while feeding their baby.
But, as the couple kisses, police lights are seen pulling up to the house in the background.When the mother answers the door, the cops explain that they’re there to arrest her for “unlawful termination of a pregnancy.” Though the woman protests that “that is my personal business,” the cops bluntly tell her, “That’s for the courts to decide,” and that her medical records have been subpoenaed and her doctor has already been taken into custody.
