This time, to allow Georgie to temporarily leave our screens to appear in a Sydney stage production, Roo was caught up in a van explosion. “Usually when I go to do a play, Roo goes to see her mum, or she’s recovering from something - this time she got blown up,” says Georgie. “It's pretty funny and a good dilemma to leave Marilyn in.
She’s in this horrible situation where her friend who was trying to help her has been injured and it seems to be nearly fatal.” The explosion was a result of a bomb sent by Stunning Organics.The company has been in a feud with Marilyn Chambers since she tried to get out of her contract and was consequently threatened by them.The story took a darker turn than expected when Marilyn was delivered a package that contained a bomb - but it was John Palmer and Roo who were caught up in the blast. “The stunt was great,” explains Georgie. “With a long-running show like Home and Away, you occasionally need those big episodes where a lot happens so the residual effect of that drama unfolds for the next few months. “If you ever see an old car on-screen, something bad is going to happen to it.
