Lihou, located off the west coast of Guernsey in the English Channel, was once home to a thriving seaweed harvesting industry but is now completely deserted.

Now, the only place to stay is a single house run by the Lihou Charitable Trust.Holidaymakers can book the tiny island just two hours from the UK where they'll be the only residents on the island.

That exclusivity means there's no shops on Lihou, so remember to bring plenty of food supplies.Part of its appeal - and challenge - is its remoteness.
