A man has been arrested and charged after allegedly crashing a vehicle into a wall and then running off. Police were called to the incident which occurred around 5pm on Thursday, February 15 on New Street in Kilbarchan.

They arrived to find the vehicle empty of its driver. They subsequently traced the 42-year-old after carrying out enquiries and when they caught up with him they asked him to take a breath test, which it is alleged he declined to do.

He was then arrested and charged with various road traffic offences and will appear at court at a later date.
