A high school forced to close for weeks after a huge blaze broke out in a classroom on the first day of term has been left with 'significant smoke and water damage'.
Fire crews raced to the incident at the Dean Trust Ardwick high school, Stockport Road, on January 4. The school was forced to close immediately afterwards amid fire service investigations, with pupils instead completing lessons remotely from home.
