Reis and Miller Guerra previously co-helmed the Cape Verde-set debut feature, “Djon Africa” (2018), and several documentaries. “Légua” is produced by the company, Uma Pedra no Sapato, which Reis founded in 2008 and ranks as one of Portugal’s leading independent production companies. The pic is set in the rural village of Légua in the North of Portugal, between Amarante and Marco de Canaveses. One of the main characters is an old country house that has been deserted by its heirs and is looked after by the ailing elderly housekeeper, Emilia, assisted by Ana (played by Carla Maciel (“Diamantino”), whose husband emigrates to work in France, leaving her to look after Emilia and her own restless teenage daughter, Mónica.

Gap is suing its former business partner Kanye West over alterations that were made to an LA building it rented in 2021 and 2022, that building having been used – it seems – as a place to sell the Yeezy products that were created by the rapper in collaboration with the retailer.According to a lawsuit filed last month, it was West’s team that instigated the alterations, putting Gap in breach of its agreement with the building’s owner.According to the New York Post, the alterations included “erecting an exterior ramp in the east side parking lot; installing a tunnel in the lot; removing ceiling lights; building a wall; and nixing three bathrooms”.The building’s owner sued Gap over the alterations last year, seeking to hold the retailer responsible for the costs of restoring the property back to how it was prior to West’s meddling.

Emma Heming Willis on Monday shared that her 9-year-old daughter Evelyn is educating herself on her father Bruce Willis’ disease after his frontotemporal dementia diagnosis.  "So, I have to tell you this story, and I'm going to try and do it without crying because when Evelyn told me this I was an absolute puddle," the 44-year-old shared in a video post on her Instagram.  She said her daughter asked her a few days ago, "Did you know that people with dementia can become severely dehydrated?" Heming Willis told her daughter she was not aware of that but inquired how she knew.  "She said, 'Well, I was at school the other day,’ and she said, ‘and I had some free time, and I was looking up fun facts about dementia.’"  While the mom of two said looking up "fun facts" about dementia "isn’t funny, it’s kinda funny," she added, touching her heart, because she said it reminded her that Evelyn "really is her father’s child because these two really just love some random facts." The deal was announced on the margins of the Cannes Film Festival and its accompanying rights market. “A Useful Ghost” follows March and Nat, a happily married couple, and their seven-year-old son Dot. Nat dies of respiratory disease caused by air pollution. A saddened March is worried that the same fate will befall his son, who gradually develops similar symptoms. Nat then returns as a ghost haunting the house vacuum cleaner to try and suck up the dust hurting her son. She also longs to be accepted as part of society and intends to prove that by getting rid of the less useful ghosts.
