Heartbreaking moment Fiona Phillips' husband reveals what she's been like since diagnosis
ok.co.ukFormer GMTV presenter Fiona Phillips shared the heartbreaking news yesterday that she has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease.The 62-year-old shared with The Mirror, where she is a columnist, all about her condition and said that her disease has "ravaged" her family and now it has "come for" her.
Now her husband, This Morning boss Martin Frizell, has spoken out about her battle and confirmed that he and her two sons will be by her side now she is on a treatment journey.
Martin, who also spoke to The Mirror, was asked if he found it difficult coping with Fiona’s episodes of memory loss. He said: "My only frustration is just I want her to get better. “I want her to remember things.
I want the apathy to go and I want this person back who was vibrant and interested in things and eager to do new things. But she’s not there at the moment.” Although Fiona has admitted she tries 'not to rely on him too much', the couple of years has no doubt been challenging for the 64-year-old who has had to 'ramp up' as a husband as he takes on more responsibilities.
