Simon Cowell
Simon Phillip Cowell (born 7 October 1959) is an English television personality, businessman and record executive. He has judged on the British television talent competition series Pop Idol (2001–2003), The X Factor (2004–2010, 2014–present) and Britain's Got Talent (2007–present), and the American television talent competition series American Idol (2002–2010), The X Factor (2011–2013), and America's Got Talent (2016–present). Cowell is the principal, founder and chief executive of the British entertainment company Syco.

A local band – which stood in for Coolio at a gig – are launching their eagerly anticipated second album.Have Mercy Las Vegas are set to launch their new album Light and Shade with a show in Dumbarton next month.The highly-rated local band are hosting an event at the Denny Civic Theatre where they will release their much awaited second album on Saturday, March 9.Have Mercy Las Vegas formed in 2011 and is composed of six members; Crispin McAlpine, Elidh Cowan, Marc Mclean, Andrew Napier and Grant Dallas and Stephen Scott.The band has already released two singles off the new album including Boon Step which has had much acclaim since its release, both singles have also received national airplay on the radio.The band have enjoyed much success and have gone from strength to strength since its formation, performing on TV, radio and many main stages across the country, even replacing Coolio at a festival in 2022.Speaking of the album, Stephen said: “It’s a much bigger sound than the previous records.“We’ve recorded the album in Chem 19 Studios which has an incredible amount of brilliant records to have been produced there.“Our engineer Jamie seems to get that wee bit more out of us too.“We’ve grown as a band too and Crispin’s songwriting on the record is incredible.“Every member of the band has truly stepped up.“It’s definitely still Have Mercy Las Vegas, the record is definitely more mature, but there’s still plenty of the fun that went into our previous songs.“In terms of who it will appeal to, I think there’s a really strong mix of influences in the album so hopefully plenty people find something that they like!”Stephen told the Lennox of the inspirations behind the tracks on the new album, continuing: “Crispin’s the
