Gruelling Comic Relief challenge as gym set to jump on assault bike for 24 hours

A family-run gym is set to embark on a gruelling 24 hour challenge in aid of Comic Relief.Livfit Training Academy, on Viewfield Road in Ayr, will put the team in teamwork as they plan to keep two assault bike machines going for a full day on Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day this Friday.Starting from 7am on Friday until 7am the following day, members will sign up for 30 minute slots, each donating £5 for the charity which supports humanitarian projects across the UK and around the world.Non-members are also encouraged to get involved, with Livfit coaches calling on their clients, family and friends to help reach their £1,000 target.Linzi Carrino, who runs Livfit with husband Ricci, said: “This year we really wanted to push team spirit and we thought what better way to start that off than for charity.“We know that Comic Relief helps many people across the UK in lots of difficult situations.“The main thing is to get everyone together for a good cause and build on the community spirit.“And hopefully we can have some people coming in the gym in the early hours between midnight and 6am to help encourage everyone else to keep going!”Linzi and Ricci are no strangers to gruelling challenges, fundraisers and mammoth sporting events themselves, having taken part in various half marathons, Spartan Races and OCR events between them.Linzi also previously ran an ultra marathon in 2018 for the Brain Tumour charity in memory of her Aunty Viv McBeth, who sadly passed away as a result of a brain tumour.Linzi said: “I’ve done a lot of charity work over my years so any time there’s something that presents itself to raise money for a good cause, I’m always willing to put effort in and try do my best for something that’s greater than myself.“My
