These eight areas of Greater Manchester are now the cheapest places to buy a home across the region. Over the first seven months of 2024, house prices have risen by 1.4 percent with the average price of a property in the UK now £266,400.

With prices set to rise by another 2.5 percent by the end of the year, according to Zoopla, house hunters may be looking for more affordable locations around the region.

The average house price in the Salford suburb is currently £149,559, which is much cheaper than the UK average. Property costs here have fallen by 6.7 percent in the last year, from an average of £160,318 in 2023.
