A Greater Manchester Police officer is due to appear in court following an anti-corruption unit investigation. Police Constable Choni Kenny, who is based in GMP's City of Manchester district, has been charged with misconduct in public office and assisting a criminal offence.

The 26-year-old is alleged to have accessed and passed police information and intelligence to members of the public. She is also alleged to have overlooked criminality which she had a duty to report during the course of her duties between April 2021 and June 2023.

It follows an investigation carried out by GMP's Anti-Corruption Unit, which was directed and controlled by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
