Coronation Street fans furious as Cassie pokes fun at cobbles icon Deirdre Barlow
ok.co.ukCoronation Street viewers couldn’t believe their eyes when Cassie Plummer made fun of the iconic Deirdre Barlow during the episode on Wednesday 19 June.
Cassie had started working as Ken Barlow’s carer after being fired from her job at the garage.The day before, Cassie happened to be in the Rovers where she overheard the Barlows discussing how someone needed to be with Ken all day.
With the family struggling to organise a rota, Cassie quickly volunteered to do the job. But on her first day, Cassie made the terrible mistake of poking fun of Ken’s late wife, and beloved Coronation Street legend, Deirdre (played by Anne Kirkbride)- much to the anger of Corrie fans.
After making Ken a brew, Cassie went rifling in his furniture for medication when she stumbled upon a pair of glasses. Holding back a laugh Cassie quickly put them on.
