Gene Maddaus Senior Media WriterThe Georgia governor’s office on Friday said that 75 film and TV productions are set to shoot there over the next 18 months, as the state looks to emphasize that it is open for business.Tyler Perry is expected to be the first out of the gate, having previously said that he will resume work on BET’s “Sistas” at his Atlanta studio on July 8.
But Gov. Brian Kemp said that the major studios are set to get rolling shortly after that.Georgia is being much less restrictive than California or New York when it comes to restarting production.
On May 22, the governor’s office issued “recommendations” for filming in the state.They are couched mainly as suggestions, in contrast with the prescriptive regulations issued.
