Gemma Atkinson has recalled seeing Gorka Marquez in tears as she nearly died giving birth. The Hits Radio host has recently welcomed her second child into the world with the Strictly Come Dancing star and it was a much calmer birth than what she experienced with their first child.

Gemma, 38, has previously spoken about the difficulties she, Gorka and the medical team faced when welcoming their firstborn, daughter Mia, into the world in 2019.

And throughout her recent second pregnancy, the doting mum spoke about her hopes for a VBAC - Vaginal Birth after Caesarean - which is set to be explored in her upcoming reality show.

Last month Bury-born Gemma, 38, and Spanish dancer Gorka, 32, shared the trailer for Gemma & Gorka: Life Behind the Lens ahead of its release later this month. "We’re so excited to announce our brand new show “Gemma & Gorka: Life behind the lens” which will air on @wtvchannel and @uktvplay this summer!" the pair, who met when Gemma was a contestant on BBC One's Strictly back in 2017, revealed. Ahead of the show airing on August 30, Gemma and Gorka have opened up about the birth of their first child which saw the then first-time mum forced to have an emergency Cesarean when her unborn daughter's heart rate dropped suddenly.
