British tourists have been warned that 66 countries across the globe are now deemed "too dangerous" for travel. According to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), these off-limit destinations include Syria, Russia and Lebanon among others.Eight new countries have recently joined the list announced by FCDO which includes Russia, Ukraine, Iran, Sudan, Lebanon, Israel, along with Belarus and the Palestinian territories.
These nations have either landed on the 'red list' or 'black list' according to UK Foreign Office guidelines informed by travel experts.These warnings roll out just before Brits start planning their spring and summer holidays.
On their website, the Foreign Office advises: "Get advice about travelling abroad, including the latest information on coronavirus, safety and security, entry requirements and travel warnings."They also recommend: "Get appropriate travel insurance as soon as you book.
Check that it covers the places you will visit, the duration of your visit and any planned activities such as adventure sports."Furthermore, they advise travellers to inform their insurance providers about any medical conditions by stating: "Tell your insurance company about any medical conditions, including undiagnosed conditions which are being investigated, and check that your policy will cover these."The UK Foreign Office has updated its travel advice, listing several countries including the Republic of Congo, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, Thailand, Togo, Tunisia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Western Sahara, reports Birmingham Live.Among the 24 countries on the 'black list', where the Foreign Office strongly advises against all but essential travel include:Moreover, there is a separate 'red list' of 42
