Michael Moffat will make his final bow at Somerset as his boyhood heroes Celtic provide the opposition for his testimonial match next month.
The Glasgow giants will send an XI to Somerset on Sunday, September 24 (kick-off 2pm) to face Ayr United as part of this year's events for the legandary Honest Man.The Celtic select will be in town and a familar Hoops face could be lining up alongside Moff in the form of Aiden McGeady, now player/technical manager at United.McGeady said: "Celtic are a global club and I know that very well from my time there.
I used to always say when I was down in England that people don't realise how big Celtic are - they have such a vast reach. We would go and play pre-season friendlies and testimonials as far afield as Australia when I was there, and the fans would always turn out in big numbers.
So for a Celtic game to be here at Somerset is going to attract a lot of the fans from the surrounding areas."I played against them while with Spartak Moscow and Hibs and as a Celtic fan my whole life, these occasions are always special.
