An osprey in a Scottish forest that became an online sensation during the Covid-19 lockdown has welcomed his first chick of the season.Footage of osprey Louis and his partner Dorcha looking after their young one has been shared by the Woodland Trust Scotland.
The chick hatched in their nest at Loch Arkaig Pine Forest in the Highlands at 6.15am on Wednesday morning.According to the Woodland Trust Scotland, Louis and Dorcha arrived back at the forest in Lochaber on March 28 and March 30 respectively.
The first egg of the season was laid on April 14.Louis has been Dorcha since 2021. Experts hope that the other two eggs in their clutch will hatch by the weekend.
The cute Scottish village that is home to lovely shops and country's 'best pub' The Woodland Trust has managed a live nest camera at Loch Arkaig since 2017, which became a hit during the 2020 lockdown when it clocked up an impressive 400,000 views worldwide as Louis nested with a previous mate.
