The family of a 'loving' grandad have paid touching tribute to him as two men face murder charges. James Thorne's family spoke out as police revealed two men have now been charged with his murder and are due to appear in court next week.
Mr Thorne, who was 52, sadly died in hospital on July 1 following an alleged incident on Crowhurst Walk, Wythenshawe, on June 14 this year, GMP said in a statement today. They are also facing charges of assault and robbery. The Manchester Evening News reported at the time Mr Thorne walked into the Tesco store in Baguley, Wythenshawe, with serious head injuries on the night before he was taken to hospital.
A spokesperson for James' family said: "James was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was also a very good friend to a lot of people, we are all devastated by his loss, he will be sadly missed by many. "James' family would like to thank everyone for their compassion, kind words and their huge amount of support through this extremely difficult time, it has helped us more than you can imagine.
