A family holiday ended in tragedy after a British boy, aged six, drowned in a hotel swimming in Cyprus. The youngster, from Inverness, was found unconscious floating in the pool by his mother, the Mirror reports.
After being pulled from the water by a lifeguard he was taken to the Paphos General Hospital by an ambulance on October 6. Doctors first praised the first aid efforts of staff at the hotel for saving his life.
He was then taken to the Makario Children's Hospital, around 90 miles away in Nicosia, for further specialised treatment. But sadly he has since died from his injuries.
