As the chill sets in, it's time to swap out the summer wardrobe for cosy winter attire. If your trusty knitwear has seen better days, adorned with those pesky little bobbles, you might be scouring TikTok for a quick fix.
But beware, as one popular hack comes with a cautionary note from fashion experts.CSD fashion guru Giorgio Ammirabile has warned against the dangers of using disposable razors to de-bobble clothes. "While using a disposable razor might seem like a quick and affordable solution for removing pilling, it can be quite risky," he said."Razors can easily cut or snag the fabric, especially on delicate items such as cashmere, fine knits, or thin sweaters.
The repeated use of a razor on these fabrics can weaken the fibres, leading to potential damage and even holes." Fear not, for there is a safer method at hand.
Giorgio advises: "In truth, the safest and most effective way to tackle pilling is with an electric fabric shaver. The best fabric shavers come with multiple speed settings tailored for different types of fabrics and include a compartment to collect the shaved pills, making the process mess-free.", reports the Mirror.
