Barney Walsh, son of TV favourite Bradley Walsh, faced a bit of a scolding from magistrates and a hefty £1,000 fine for zooming down the M4 at a hair-raising 95mph.The 'Casualty' actor, who's also known for teaming up with his dad on 'Gladiators', was caught speeding in his swanky 2023-plate Mercedes in Swindon, Wiltshire back in March.

When it came time to face the music at Swindon Magistrates Court this Wednesday, Barney was all set to admit to driving "between 93mph and 95mph." Despite his readiness to plead guilty, his legal team wasn't having any of the police's claims that he'd been clocked at 97mph.The court's head honcho, Mark Baker, didn't mince words, calling out the young star for what he saw as sheer arrogance Barney didn't even show his face in court, leaving the magistrates less than impressed.

Baker expressed his frustration: "We find this a little bit arrogant that this plea is coming from a firm representing Mr Walsh when he was summoned to appear here." Prosecutor Anna Hughes recounted how Wiltshire Police spotted Barney's flashy Mercedes GLC 300 'flying past' a speed camera on the afternoon of March 6.

Officers clocked him driving at a whopping 97mph, but Barney's legal team argued that the soap star 'believes he was travelling at between 93mph and 95mph and he is prepared to plead guilty on this basis'.Typically, speeding offences like Barney's could see you slapped with a £2,500 fine, but the magistrate kindly reduced his fine to just £1,000, giving him the benefit of the doubt.
