Emmerdale airs shock death as fans predict arrival of 'troublesome' character

During the latest trip to the village, Caleb Milligan (William Ash) was waiting for dying Helen to transfer a large sum of cash over to him in exchange for seeing Ruby one last time.
But when the hospital called Ruby to say goodbye to her ill mum, she arrived 20 minutes too late. Ruby walked into the room with tears in her eyes as she looked over her mum's dead body.
Helen hadn't seen her daughter for years after she disowned Ruby for her relationship with her now husband Caleb. When Ruby returned home, she told Caleb she would never know what her mum wanted to say to her as he looked on pretending to be shocked.
