Equipment returned to South Lanarkshire fire station after break-in

Vital equipment taken during a break-in at a South Lanarkshire fire station has now been returned to the emergency service.Items worth £3500 were taken from Biggar fire station in January, with the building on Station Road in the town also being damaged during the incident.It came a day after Duns fire station in the Borders was broken into, with £30,000 of equipment being stolen.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

He has been reported to the procurator fiscal.Detective Inspector Alan Sharp said: “The equipment taken from the fire stations is used in lifesaving situations.

Following enquiries, it has been recovered and returned to the fire stations.“It is deplorable that anyone would target an emergency service.
