A football daft magazine editor has released a spicy sequel to the fast-paced tales of her fictional English Premier League celebrity family.A Serious Dilemma, by author Gill Sherry, from Maidens, sees the return of the wealthy and successful Kelly family, whose sinister secrets continue to threaten their otherwise perfect world.Tottenham fan Gill’s debut novel Serious Foul Play, released in 2020, told a tale of glamour, blackmail and adultery as it followed the lives of the Kellys, who have more to lose than most.And now thanks to an unexpected job offer for the misogynistic Crawford Kelly - a year after losing his beloved role as manager of the Blues - author Gill was back in hot seat weaving a tale of love, football, family and betrayal.Gill, who lives with husband Adie and miniature dachshund Maverick, said: “I didn’t expect to write a second one but everybody kept saying ‘no there’s more, I want to know what happened to him and to her’.“And then I got an idea in my head of what the first chapter would look like and I couldn’t shake it off, and once I put that on the page I thought ‘no I need to keep this going’.“The story revolves around this celebrity family and they’ve got a seemingly perfect world but actually it’s not, they’ve all got secrets and issues and demons.

The second book is basically the lengths that they go to to keep those secrets hidden.“I love football - I’m a bit of a football fanatic - and they always say to write about things you know so it just made sense for me to do that.“But you don’t have to follow football to enjoy it, everybody tells me that.

There’s enough other things to keep you interested. A lot of it, again, is based in the west coast of Scotland so you’ve got that local interest.”It
