Three new faces have arrived in Walford, as Stevie's secret family came to light in EastEnders. Teddy Mitchell, played by 44 year old Roland Manookian, appeared in Albert Square last week – on a mission to find his dad Stevie (Alan Ford) along with his two sons, Harry (Elijah Holloway) and the younger Barney (Lewis Bridgeman). The family reunion forces Stevie to reveal to Billy (Perry Fenwick) the existence of siblings he never knew he had.

And now Sharon (Letitia Dean) even looks set to 'find new romance' with Teddy. But Roland, best known for his role as Zebedee in The Football Factory, a film about football hooliganism and the fans' personal struggles, actually had a brush with two EastEnders icons in another movie, more than 20 years ago.

Way back in 2001, Roland appeared in the teen film Goodbye Charlie Bright, a comedy-drama about a boy called Charlie and his friends, who live on a south London council estate, as their "love, friendship and loyalties are tested" during one long, hot summer. The actor playing Charlie in the film was none other than 22 year old heartthrob Paul Nicholls, who'd previously appeared as schizophrenic Joe Wicks in EastEnders some five years earlier.

And the EastEnders co-incidences don't stop there, as also in the movie were two other EastEnders icons. The character of Francis was played Danny Dyer, who famously went on to portray Mick Carter in EastEnders for nine years, from 2013 until he quit in 2022.
