Former EastEnders actor, Harry Rafferty, 34, escaped a prison sentence after assaulting a woman with a 'bladed article' and punching her in the face. The actor, known for his role as violent gang leader Kane in the BBC soap during 2013 reportedly flew into a "rage" and threatened to kill the woman following an altercation at a friend's house in Camden, north London.
The incident occurred on May 15, 2021, after Harry and a friend met the victim and her companion at a bar, leading to them all returning to Harry's friend's house.
Prosecutor Frida Hussain KC told Wood Green Crown Court that the woman described Harry "making sexual advances that she rejected, and she had to justify why she didn't want anything to do with him".This rejection led to Harry's "undue rage", during which he threatened to kill the woman, according to the Evening Standard. "He went on to punch her several times in the face and chest, while attacking her with a bladed article.
She received cuts to her face and slash marks to her upper chest and abdomen," added the prosecutor. The court heard how the woman managed to defend herself and find safety in the bathroom.
