Andy Murray has been tipped to become Emma Raducanu's coach after calling time on his legendary tennis career.The three-time Grand Slam champion had previously announced that Wimbledon and the Olympic Games would mark the swansong of his remarkable playing career.
A wrist injury ended Murray's hopes for one last singles challenge at Wimbledon and he went out in the first round of the men's doubles alongside his brother Jamie.
His plans for a mixed doubles run ended when Raducanu pulled out due to injury.Murray's retirement tour continued in Paris, partnering Dan Evans in an exhilarating run to the Olympic men's doubles quarter-finals, where defeat saw the 37-year-old bow out of the sport, though he refused to rule out a coaching career.
Laura Robson, who clinched a silver medal alongside Murray at the 2012 Olympics, has heaped praise on his mentoring skills and suggested he could work with rising star Raducanu."Andy would be a great coach to anyone," Robson told the Metro. "I've said this to him over the last couple weeks when I have seen him: 'You would be amazing!'"He's got such an analytical mind.
