Drivers are being warned of a little known motoring rule that could lead to a £1,000 fine.Anyone who experiences dizziness - whether it's sudden, disabling or recurrent - must inform the DVLA about their condition if they don't want to be left majorly out of pocket.

If any motorists fail to inform the DVLA about any type of medical condition that could affect their skills on the road, they could be slapped with the hefty fine - and even prosecuted if they are involved in an accident as a result.

A car expert from leading automotive company, BigWantsYourCar.com, spoke out about the risks involved if people don't declare their medical conditions to the agency and said it's "vital" that they do so.

Darren Miller said: "If you experience sudden, disabling, or recurrent dizziness or vertigo, it's vital to inform the DVLA. Failing to do so can lead to serious repercussions, including a fine of up to £1,000, and in some cases, prosecution if your condition results in an accident." Darren also had some specific advice for different types of vehicles.
