Dram lovers flock to Stonehouse as village's whisky club hosts first festival

Stonehouse locals were in high spirits on Saturday thanks to the village’s inaugural whisky festival.Members of Stonehouse Whisky Club hosted its first whisky festival at the village’s Masonic Hall with around 280 dram enthusiasts enjoying their day over two sessions.All five Scotch Whisky regions - Campbeltown, Highland, Islay, Lowland and Speyside - were represented by around 20 exhibitors.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

The feedback we have received from the vendors has been first class.“As well as people from Stonehouse we had people along from Edinburgh, Alloa and Ayrshire.

I was really surprised but delighted with that.“We had 140 people in each session so it was a busy day. We are all delighted.”The festival also featured fresh culinary delights from JNKYRD, one of the local area’s best pop-up street food specialists and a bar was open if you fancied a drink
