Two days after he made a surprise appearance at Coachella as Childish Gambino, five-time Grammy winner Donald Glover said today that he will retire his musical alter ego after two more albums.
The double-Emmy-winning Atlanta alum said he’ll release two more albums under the Childish Gambino persona — his first solo projects since 3.15.20, which streeted just as the Covid lockdown hit.
Last year, he released an EP featuring Ni’jah for Swarm, his horror series that aired on Prime Video. Yesterday Glover tweeted an announcement of new music: “GILGA Radio tonight @ 11 pm pst.
live streamed on Instagram @donaldglover.” During the subsequent broadcast, he said that following the release of the album Atavista, “there’s the final Childish Gambino album, a soundtrack for the fans.” Later on social media, he revealed that the second and final album would be the Bando Stone & the New World soundtrack.
