This Christmas will mark five years since broadcaster Dianne Oxberry died from ovarian cancer, just a matter of days after being diagnosed with the terrifying illness.

Only three in 10 women diagnosed with ovarian cancer live beyond 10 years, according to figures from Ovarian Cancer Action. Early diagnosis is an incredibly important factor in improving those figures – something Dianne’s friends and family, who founded a charity in her name, found out in the most devastating way possible.

The popular TV fixture was diagnosed with ovarian cancer on New Year’s Eve of 2018 and succumbed to the disease just 10 days later at 51-years-old.

Dianne had been experiencing a ‘bit of tummy pain’, but not much more – her family is now on a mission to raise awareness of the most important signs that might save lives.
