Current assisted dying law branded 'cruel' as Bill due before Parliament

The anticipated Bill, tabled by Labour MP Kim Leadbeater, is slated for formal introduction on October 16, potentially leading to a prompt debate and preliminary vote.
It will be the first time the issue has been debated in the House of Commons since 2015, when an assisted dying Bill was defeated. Having joined the Swiss Dignitas clinic in December, the Childline founder had spoken with Ms Leadbeater following the MP's announcement of her intention to present the bill.
