Creetown chief Jamie Adams hailed his “ruthless” players after they thrashed Mid Annandale 6-0. Dean Fyfe got the ball rolling with Harry Mitchell scoring either side of Robbie Murray’s goal to put the hosts well in control at the break.
Josh Rennie scored around the hour mark with Richard Jones completing the scoring from the penalty spot. Adams said: “It was obviously a good result and a good performance.
It was another clean sheet and we scored six goals. “Everybody did really well and it’s always good to have come back from a wee break with a positive result and a positive performance. “I thought we were quite ruthless in the first half, we had five or six chances and scored four of them. “In the second half I told the boys, without being disrespectful, that the game was done but could they go on and perform like they did in the first half? “To be fair they did.
I don’t think we did just as well as we did but we did well enough and got a couple more goals and the pleasing thing was the clean sheet.” Saturday’s result means Creetown are just one point behind Dalbeattie Star and two behind local rivals and league leaders Newton Stewart, who have played two games more.
