BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Nick Knowles confirms show future following injury

Nick Knowles has confirmed his future on Strictly Come Dancing after picking up an injury hours after performing live for the first time in the iconic ballroom.

Nick was celebrating his 62nd birthday a day late on Sunday (September 22) after opening the first live show of the BBC One dance contest on his actual birthday on Saturday night (September 21) alongside his dance partner Luba Mushtuk.

But his belated birthday celebrations didn't go to plan as after going to pick up his young son, the pair broke down at the side of a motorway. The pain progressively got worse and Nick has since had scans to check the damage and is also being assessed in the training room by a physio to see if it will be possible for him to perform in week two of Strictly on Saturday night (September 28).
