Cow-denbeath chaos as herd halts traffic on Scots town's high street

A herd of cows has been seen bringing traffic to a standstill on a Scots high street. The farm animals were spotted trotting down the Cowdenbeath's High Street on Tuesday afternoon.

As the cattle took to the town, queues of vehicles were seen being held up on either side of the road.Video footage shows the cows roaming through the streets of the Fife town as they appeared to have escaped from a nearby farm.

Writing on Facebook, stunned local Louise Scott said: "They’ve been going crazy all morning poor things as heard them making some noise."A statement from Templehall Cafe read: "Heard them from the football ground - they're pretty harmless.

Hope they had a good day out."I'm surprised there were three of them". Janie Mackie said: "They were munching away on the grass for a wee while."Amy Niall said: "We were held up for some time on the main street because of them, but they looked so cute and happy so the delay was worth it."It comes after a separate herd of cows caused mayhem for railway commuters on Monday morning.
