Steven J. Horowitz Senior Music Writer After Chester Bennington’s son criticized Linkin Park for bringing in Emily Armstrong as the new vocalist, the late singer’s mother has spoken out against the band, claiming that she feels “betrayed” and that they’re “trying very hard to erase the past.” In an interview with Rolling Stone, Bennington’s mother Susan Eubanks explained that the band had promised to notify her if there were any plans to continue as a group. “I feel betrayed,” she said. “They told me if they were ever going to do something, they would let me know.

And I saw that whole thing of, ‘We have an announcement.’ That whole week, they were at the top if you go enter anything into Google.” She says she turned on the group’s livestream performance when they announced Armstrong as Bennington’s replacement earlier this month “not on purpose.
