Celine Dion Reveals She Almost Died While Battling Stiff Person Syndrome

Just before the doc is released, a new interview with Hoda Kotb will debut on NBC, and the news anchor teased that the singer reveals she almost died “at one point” amid her year and a half battle with Stiff Person Syndrome. Keep reading to find out more… “It was so jarring to me and moving, I couldn’t believe what they were able to capture in that documentary,” Hoda said on Today with Hoda and Jenna on Thursday (May 23). “Céline Dion at some point, she is now much better, but at some point she almost died, which is something she says.” That same day, the trailer for the documentary, I Am: Celine Dion, debuted, and in it, she says, “I’m working everyday.
But I have to admit, it’s been a struggle.” Watch the trailer here! Back in April, Celine was on the cover of Vogue France and opened up about her condition, how she’s doing and whether or not she would ever go on tour again.
Earlier this year, Celine made a surprise appearance at the Grammys, where she was met with a standing ovation upon walking out on stage.
